We know that it is important to you that your information is secure. Title 13 protects census data - personal information collected by the Census Bureau can never be published, cannot be used in court, and cannot be used by any government agency outside of the Census Bureau. Census workers are sworn to protect the confidentiality of census data for life. Violations of Title 13 are punishable by five years in prison and/or a fine of $250,000.
