Sean J. Gallagher
City Clerk
The Office of the City Clerk is one of the oldest offices in City government. The original role of the Clerk was limited to taking the meeting minutes for the City’s legislative body and affixing the City seal on official documents.
Today, the Office of the City Clerk continues to perform those functions, but it also issues Vital Records, manages Open Public Record Act (OPRA) requests, registers landlords and lobbyists and certifies local elections.
The Municipal Clerk is the Secretary to the Municipal Council, Secretary to the Municipality, keeper of the City Seal, Chief Election Officer of the Municipality and the individual responsible for the Records Management of the City.
