Mayor Fulop Announces Daylong Fourth of July Celebration with a Grand Finale of NJ’s Largest Fireworks Display
Posted on 07/01/2021
JERSEY CITY - Mayor Steven M. Fulop announced today the daylong Fourth of July festivities, in partnership with Jersey City Night Market, will be capped off with the largest fireworks display in New Jersey. Jersey City’s fireworks - conducted by Guinness World Record holder, Fireworks by Grucci - will be launching from barges in the Hudson River with a larger viewing area this year. Spectators can watch the fireworks show along the Hudson River Walkway, from the north field at Liberty State Park, and most overlook areas in The Heights.

“As host of one of the biggest Fourth of July events in the region, we look forward to putting 2021 July 4th Mapon one of the best celebrations yet again this year, with fireworks launching from two barges in the Hudson River,” said Mayor Fulop. “With Jersey City Night Market providing dayside food and entertainment, residents and visitors can enjoy a day of festivities as we celebrate our nation’s independence coupled with a sense of normalcy following a year of lockdowns worldwide.”

At 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 4, 2021, Grucci’s fireworks will colorfully illuminate the sky in Jersey City with the majestic backdrop of the Manhattan skyline. The City’s efforts to bring back the fireworks display over the Hudson River was a decision made with the community’s needs and safety top of mind.

Fireworks by Grucci is a sixth-generation, family-owned and operated fireworks company that has developed a prominent reputation, having performed at eight U.S. Presidential Inaugurations, Olympic Games, World’s Fairs, and earning the Guinness World Record for “largest fireworks display” ever recorded.

While there are no longer limits for outdoor gatherings, residents and visitors are invited to watch the fireworks along the waterfront while maintaining all safety protocols necessary. For information on safety protocols, please visit FreedomandFireworks.com.

“We’re so incredibly excited to partner with the City of Jersey City to celebrate our community, the resiliency of small business, and getting back to normal. We will have a full day of authentic Jersey City vibes, and after the year we all have experienced, it is our collective priority that every aspect of this event be curated by local talent,” said Jersey City Night Market Co-Owners, Alysis Vasquez and Perla Nieves.
