Mayor Fulop Brings Renowned Fourth of July Celebration Back to Jersey City; Just Days Away with Headliner Flo Rida!
JERSEY CITY - Mayor Steven M. Fulop joins the Jersey City Municipal Council, the Office of Cultural Affairs, and Exchange Place Alliance to announce New Jersey’s July 4th Celebration! We’re just days away from the fun-filled festivities, fireworks, and live performances by A-list talent on the concert stage all day into the night.
The unparalleled annual Independence Day experience attracts nearly 150,000 residents and visitors from all over the region. The daylong event will be highlighted with performances by superstars Shaquille O’Neal aka DJ Diesel and Funk Flex, each taking the stage to DJ their own sets prior to this year’s ultimate headliner - Flo Rida - and capped off by Guinness World Record holder Fireworks by Grucci illuminating the sky over the Hudson River. “We have superstar talent taking the stage leading up to our renowned fireworks by Grucci from two barges in the middle of the Hudson River to give spectators a 360-degree view with unparalleled backdrops from both New Jersey and New York,” said Mayor Fulop. “We’re also focusing this year on supporting our local small businesses with our food truck festival beginning at 12 p.m. Admission is free and open to all ages. We invite everyone to come out and enjoy the food, fireworks, and incredible entertainment along the Jersey City waterfront as we celebrate our nation’s independence.”
New Jersey’s July 4th Celebration at Exchange Place will open to the public at 12 p.m. on July 4th and end with the Grucci fireworks display, scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m. In Jersey City, spectators can
watch the fireworks show along the Hudson River Walkway, from the north field at Liberty State Park, and most overlook areas in The Heights.
After last year’s success,
Jersey City Night Market will be organizing a food truck festival from 12 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. This year’s celebration will focus on reviving food businesses and bringing the community together.
TRANSPORTATION TO THE EVENT:
Anyone attending the event is strongly encouraged to arrive by foot, bike, or public transportation to Exchange Place as parking will be extremely limited and road closures will be in effect. For more information about arriving by Light Rail, PATH, Ferry, and other mass transit options, please

Parking:
Parking in the surrounding neighborhoods will be reserved for area residents. Public parking will be available at all three Newport Mall garages at a $15 flat rate for vehicles entering after 5 p.m.
Arriving by Light Rail and PATH: Guests are encouraged to utilize public transportation to get to and from the festival. The nearest PATH train station stop is located right in Exchange Place, for easy access to New York City, Newark, and beyond. Guests utilizing the PATH or Light Rail, should check for schedules and alerts here:

Arriving by Bicycle: This year, BikeJC is pleased to provide free bike valet service for all attendees who arrive on two wheels from noon to 10 p.m. in front of the post office on Washington Street. Residents without bikes may also rent through Citi Bike, which has several stations located in the festival area, including Harborside, Sussex Street, and Washington and Grand. Please note that the Citi Bike station location at Exchange Place will not be operating on July 4th.
Arriving by Bus: NJ Transit buses stop at locations throughout Jersey City and the surrounding region, including major transportation hubs like Newark’s Penn Station, Hoboken, Secaucus and New York’s Port Authority Bus Terminal. For more information, please visit

Vehicle Access and Press Parking:
All press arriving by vehicle must use the JCPD checkpoint located at Marin Boulevard and York Street. Please have your press credentials readily accessible at the checkpoint. From there, parking for all press will be reserved on Hudson Street between York and Grand Streets.
WHAT TO BRING/WHAT TO LEAVE HOME:
Security checkpoints will be located at all entrances to the events. Please be advised that any bags or backpacks brought into the festival area are subject to search by law enforcement authorities. Attendees are encouraged to pack belongings in clear bags that show the contents. Coolers will not be allowed in the festival area.
